I am 38 year old and my BMI is 28, all of my fat is located in my stomach, back and arms. Is there any weight loss surgery I qualify for? I tried the obera ball 2 years ago, however I had to have it removed early because the ball started to expand inside my stomach due to my extremely slow metabolism.
Answer: You don't qualify for weight loss surgery You would be a good candidate for plastic surgery, unfortunately with that BMI you do not qualify for weight loss surgery

Answer: You may consider weight loss surgeries or non-surgical interventions, such as the gastric balloon At 38 years old with a BMI of 28, you're in the overweight category, which typically doesn’t qualify for weight loss surgery on its own. Most weight loss surgery guidelines, such as those from the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, generally recommend bariatric surgery for individuals with a BMI of 40 or higher, or a BMI of 35 or higher with obesity-related health conditions, such as diabetes or hypertension. However, since you've had difficulty with weight loss methods like the Orbera balloon and struggle with a slow metabolism, it's possible that you could benefit from other types of treatments or interventions. You may consider weight loss surgeries or non-surgical interventions, such as the gastric balloon, if you have persistent difficulty losing weight despite other efforts. You might also be a candidate for non-invasive treatments like CoolSculpting or body contouring procedures to target localized fat in areas like your stomach, back, and arms.

Answer: Is there any weight loss surgery I qualify for with BMI 28? In some special cases, we can perform a sleeve gastrectomy on low BMI obese patients, especially in your case, since you have tried everything to loose weight, including a balloon.

Answer: Candidate for surgery Hi there, you are a good candidate for surgery. Explore your options between the common Bariatric procedures, like a Gastric Bypass, Gastric Plication, or VSG (Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy). I suggest you have a consult with a certified Bariatric Surgeon, so we can recommend the surgery that best suits your needs, taking into consideration your age, your medical history, and your goals. In your case and with the description you gave, I would recommend considering a VSG (Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy) this surgery will help you to have better eating habits and a healthier lifestyle. The sleeve gastrectomy has shown to be a very effective metabolic procedure in obesity remission and control of metabolic diseases, helping you to achieve a healthier lifestyle. -A.L
