Will lip filler correct my M shaped top lip? (Photo)

Question

I've got a really weird shaped top lip. It looks like a long "m" upfront. My boyfriend's brother is very mean and ALL the time that I look like a bird to him because I have a big nose and a "beak" for a mouth. I've looked around the internet to see if my lip is fixable and I saw on one website where a "plastic surgeon" said my shaped lip would be hard to treat. I just wanted to see what someone else thought and if fillers would them look better.

I appreciate your question and photos. I believe you could see a very good result with some well-placed filler to soften up the shape of the lips and add subtle fullness. This treatment is quick and does not involve downtime. Results last up to one year for some patients. For a more permanent improvement, you could also consider a surgical lip lift, which would shorten the philtrum (distance between the nose and upper lip) and increase the red show of the upper lip. I encourage you to schedule a consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon for further assessment and a customized treatment plan.

It looks like the distance between your nose and upper lip is quite long.  It appears you would benefit from a lip lift.  A lip lift does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners.  This takes less than 1 hour to perform under local anesthesia and costs $3,000.

I would recommend that you see a facial plastic surgeon or another injector specialist in your area. It would seem like your best options would be to place a filler into areas that required augmentation or fullness to correct the deficient areas in the sides of your upper lip. Thank you for sharing your question and photographs.  You should be able to improve the M-shape of your lip with dermal filler but it will take time, and a couple of syringes of filler.  Be sure to seek out a specialist in consultation.
