I'm looking for a defined, chiseled jawline. Does Voluma work for jaw augmentation?

Voluma can be used to augment the jaw although it is considered off-label, which is probably why the clinic you reached out to does not do it. I commonly use it along the jawline with very nice results.

Juvederm Voluma works very effectively to augment areas of bony deficiency, such as the cheekbones and the jawline.  Voluma is extremely cohesive, and allows it to resist deformation and provide the requisite rigidity to provide structure to those structures.  Find a physician experienced with Voluma to ensure the best results.  

Yes fillers injected by an expert in "off label" areas such as the jawline has the ability to enhance its appearance though only for as long as the product lasts. Voluma is one of the longest lasting injections lasting up to 2 years and offers a non surgical alternative.

This is a great topic for a one-on-one discussion with your plastic surgeon or R.N., as the answer is "it depends." Voluma - as well as Juvéderm and Radiesse -  are very popular at my practice. Rightly so. These are excellent, non-invasive pharmaceuticals to help restore facial fullness lost over time. Voluma's strength is in the upper cheek area - and not the jawline, per se. However, what you may find is that Voluma treatment in your cheeks may collaterally "lift" your jawline. Again, meet with your qualified physician or injector to explore your options. All the best. 

Voluma could help with jaw augmentation but it is a gel and softer than Radiesse.  Since Radiesse is firmer, it sometimes can provide more augmentation along the jaw.  Different physicians may have a preference for using one product over the other, but I believe you could get improvement with either one.  

Hello, and thank you for your inquiry! Voluma can be used to define the jawline. There is another filler from the Juvederm brand called Volux which is designed to be placed in the jawline. Volux is a little thicker than Voluma and can give you a more impressive result. Good luck on your journey!

Thank you for your question. In my opinion, in the right candidate yes it can. Juvederm Voluma is being used off label for jaw line definition. It is highly cohesive and works well in areas as the cheek and jaw line. It may also be used for the chin area for patients with weak chin. It lasts up to 2 years and is a good alternative for patients not looking for surgical intervention.

Voluma is FDA approved for the high cheekbone area. Placement elsewhere is off label and we do not do this. And this may vary by practitioner, I would suggest discussing with a Board Certified Dermatologist with expertise in Voluma.

Both Voluma and Radiesse have the ability to lift and fill the skin in areas like the jawline. Voluma has the advantages of being reversible, and may last longer than Radiesse. Yet there is more experience with Radiesse in the jawline, where it has performed very well. Both are great fillers with very good safety and longevity.Ii would discuss this with your dermatologist and consider her/his advice after your doctor has the opportunity to examine you in person.
