Thank you for your question. It is difficult to determine how long the blue lines will last. Typically they can last 1 - 1.5 years, you can schedule a follow up with your injector to discuss a hyaluronidase injection to dissolve the left over product. Your other option is to wait until it dissolves on its own. Best,
The unwanted, bluish-colored Tyndall Effect can result from too superficial a placement of a hyaluronic acid filler within the skin or injection within very fine, delicate skin, such as under the eyes. Since the duration of the effect of hyaluronic acid filler injections, with some exceptions like Voluma XC, seldom exceeds a year to a year and a half, one can reasonably expect the Tyndall effect not to persist longer than this. That having been said, I have personally treated a patient with the Tyndall effect who gave a history of having been treated in the smile lines over two years earlier with Perlane. A few microdroplets of hyaluronidase to dissolve the residual filler remedied that patient's problem within three days.
If you can send in photos it may be easier to answer your question specifically. It is unusual after injection of a hyaluronic gel such as Juvaderm to develop blue lines and to have them persist for 1 1/2 years. It is best to have a knowedgeable physician evaluate your face and then make a recommendation. This could be related to the injections or due to another cause. Potential treatment options may vary depending on the diagnosis. In all probability if these lines were due to a superficial injection they should have resolved by this time.
Blue lines after Juvederm are usually a result of the product being placed too shallow and so you get the Tyndall effect. It is hard to comment on how long they will last, but it's usually not as long as you have stated. Do you have photos? A bit of hyaluronidase injected correctly by a trained physician could remove the blue areas almost immediately. Otherwise, you will have to just wait for the product to go away on its own. The swelling of the vein following close injection of a filler is most likely due to compression of the vein either by swelling post filler or extrinsic compression of the area above the draining site of the vein. I would just allow time for this to resolve on its own. If it is due...
Only if the massing is needed then the injector would have to do so, you can try taking arnica before or after treament to helo eliminate bruising
Thank you for your question. It is not common to experience zero results after 4 syringes of Voluma to your cheeks. Perhaps consider scheduling a follow up with your injector to assess before and after photos. Best,
