Cost of mole removal? Does $13,000 seem like an appropriate amount?

My 11 year old had a mole removwd from her face. She had to go under anesthesia because of the size. It was smaller than the size of an eraser on a pencil. She had it completed by a plastic surgeon at LeBonhur in Memphis. Ni complications from surgery. They charged insurnace $13,000. This seems extremely high for a mole removal. Our out of pocket cost is right aeoubd $3k. Does this seem like an appropriate amount?

I recommend getting an in-person formal evaluation with a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist. Moles can be removed with a laser, radiowave or shave. If there is any scarring or pigmentation following the removal, your dermatologist can treat those conditions as well. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
