Hi, I had liposonix done last week and some of the areas like my stomach didn't have one inch of pinchable fat. Will that damage the muscle or other tissue? What are the consequences. Thanks for your time !

Answer: Pinch an inch for Liposonix Liposonix uses focused ultrasound, which means that the energy waves converge at a specific focal point, like light focused through a lens. This produces a burst of heat that disrupts the fat cells. An inch is about 2.5 centimeters, and the focal point for Liposonix is at a depth of 1.3 cm and about 1 cm thick. If there is less than an inch of fat, the focal point will be on the muscle, bone, or whatever tissue is at that depth under the skin and it could cause significant damage. You would know if this occurred however so it sounds like your treatment was done properly.

Answer: What happens if you do liposonix in less than one inch of fat? Liposonix is designed to go down to 1.3cm below the skin which is a ted more then half an inch. So even if you did not have a full inch of fat to pinch of, it is highly unlikely that the US was hitting the muscle. Most people will have at least 1.3cm worth of fat below their skin.
