Ct scan says septum is midline but two surgeons told me it’s deviated?

I scheduled surgery today for septoplasty. I’m nervous because I’m desperate to breathe good again and my cat scan said my septum was midline. Can the septum be deviated enough to impact breathing but show up as mid line in the findings of my Ct scan results? I spent a lot of money on it and I’m really scared it won’t help and I’ll need another surgery down the line.

In short, yes. I have performed hundreds of septoplasties and can reassure you that a physical examination is far superior to a CT scan in diagnosing a septal deviation. The CT scan can be limited in terms of angles and soft tissues of the septum. If your surgeon is experienced in septal surgery, they will guide you through this relatively straight-forward and gratifying procedure.

If the surgeon also dies turbinate reduction you will have the best chance for a clear airway. Turbinate reduction is often done with septoplasty to improve results
