Bump or swelling in the tip? (Photo)

Question

I had revision rhinoplasty sometime in 2017 to fix a polybeak and a hanging columella. After the swelling went down I started noticing a raised bump in the tip region that becomes more noticeable the longer I've been awake or when I get stressed out. Any idea why there is a raised region in the tip?

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photograph, you may benefit from a revision with tip refining rhinoplasty. That area is likely due to your lower lateral cartilage.   Your surgeon can accomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your lower nose. Cartilage grafts may also be used to help improve tip refinement. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.
