I once heard that a saline implant froze in the arctic but that may be a plastic surgery myth, given all the surgery in steaming hot south america I would not think its an issue!
I'm not aware of any issues with high body temps affecting any type of breast implants, even the cohesive ones.
Silicone gel implants have been engineered and designed to withstand normal body temperatures. This would include conditions in which you have a fever or if you were in a severely hot climate. The implant material will not destabilize or change unless you subject them to temperatures that your own body could not tolerate.
Cohesive silicone gel implants are designed to withstand normal and warmer (i.e., hot tubs, fever) body temperature ranges. Should you chose to use a hot tub or suntan for example, you may find that the implant is warmer (“softer”) than the rest of your body as your body cools down more quickly than theimplant.Karen Singer, M.D., P.A.Harvard GraduateBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon
Don't worry — your siliconeimplants are completely safe at any body temperature. Implant manufacturers runextensive tests to be sure that their devices hold up and perform perfectlywhether you're at the North Pole or the equator. Even if you had a very highfever, your implants would be equally cohesive and strong. It's an interestingquestion, though, so thanks for asking!
There would be no detectable changes with the implant at the various body temperatures. Perhaps when you are colder your muscle tenses more?
After a 10 minute internet search and reading the implant companies literature I find there is a non issue event for you... Great question...
Cohesive gel implants are mant to withstand normal body temperatures. Yes, if they put in a fire, they would probably melt, but not in the body.
Thank you for your question!Cohesive silicone gel implants are meant to withstand the normal human body temperatures. If your body temperature is within the normal range there is absolutely no need to worry about the integrity of the implant. Since the implant is located inside of your body, the outside temperature would not effect the implant itself. Moriah Moffitt, MD
Yes you're cohesive gel breast implants are designed and manufactured to withstand normal body temperatures including higher temperatures with a fever.
Most of my patients fly in for surgery. My suggestion is always to stick around for a week but very few patients actually do that. A reasonable way to think about it is, most of the issues with breast augmentation will occur within the first 24 hours so if you come in postoperative day 1 and...
Omega 3 fats (e.g. fish oil, EFA, flax seed oil, Krill oil), NSAID's (aspirin, ibuprofen, naprosyn), Vitamin E, "blood thinners" and a whole host of supplements and medicines can cause excessive bleeding and bruising and therefore increase your recovery time. When in doubt stay away from...
Breast Implant Rippling most often occurs when there is insufficient soft tissue coverage due to little overlying body fat and breast tissue. Implants placed beneath the muscle help to minimize this phenomena but the lower and outside breast (as pectoralis muscle is no longer present), towards...
