I started to massage the area to remove the scabs very gently and hairs kept falling out that where lodged into the scabs. Have I lost grafts completely or have I just lost the hair that was in the scab and the graft is lodged in my head? Please help as I feel it's been a waste of time if I've massaged all the grafts out!?

Answer: Hair transplant shedding Shedding of the transplanted hair is perfectly normal after a hair transplant procedure and will occur anywhere from weeks 2 to 6 post op. Continue to follow your doctors post op care instructions and happy growing.

Answer: Shedding with Scabs Your doctor should have mentioned that this would happen- transplanted grafts usually fall out between a week and two months following a transplant surgery. As long as you aren't pulling hard and they are coming out more or less on their own and there's no sign of trauma such as blood, it's incredibly unlikely you've down any damage to your grafts. They should all start growing back in the next several months!
