All of the treatments for male balding are life long. In other words, if one starts a treatment the goal is to continue forever without stopping. Finasteride, like minoxidil (Rogaine), laser and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) only work if you continue to use them.  If you stop, your hair reverts to what it would have been like had you never used the product.  Yes, you can resume finasteride, and though you probably will not make up the gains you lost after stopping the medication it should help prevent further loss as long as you continue to take it.
