Answer: Finasteride- restarting All of the treatments for male balding are life long. In other words, if one starts a treatment the goal is to continue forever without stopping. You’ll want to review with your physician any side effects you had when using the drug as well as your current state of health. These are important determinants as to whether restarting is a good idea or not. We find that patients who restart after a long absence can still get benefit - but not to quite the same degree as the first time it was used.

Answer: Can I start Finasteride again if I used it a year ago and discontinued it? Finasteride, like minoxidil (Rogaine), laser and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) only work if you continue to use them. If you stop, your hair reverts to what it would have been like had you never used the product. Yes, you can resume finasteride, and though you probably will not make up the gains you lost after stopping the medication it should help prevent further loss as long as you continue to take it.
