Is it possible for a "normal" mole to have a scab that oozes when disturbed and has the liquid seems to cause the scab to grow or spread? I know I shouldn't have picked and in wondering if I simply infected it possibly. But I'm just trying not to get worried.

For up to 3 months post operatively, you can apply a scar gel . I recommend to my patients, a scar gel called bio-corneum. It has silicone and an spf mixed in the gel. Avoiding sun, tanning, etc will also reduce permanent redness/darkness at scar as well.
With this history I would recommend oral antibiotics and oral Bromelain to decrease swelling. The combination will decrease swelling and decrease the chance of infection
