How long to wear compression garment after tumescent lipo-arms?

Question

Hello, im wondering how long will i have to wear the garment if its the arms that im targeting to get the tumescent lipo done? Im also an RN in the med surg area. what's your advice on how long i should be off work? I heard tumescent lipo is a lighter feel compare to others. Im keeping the surgery as a secret. Thank you

I recommend following up with your Doctor about their protocol regarding compression. I have my patients wear compression for 3-6 weeks straight then overnight for 3-6 months after their procedure. For liposuction after care, I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. You should wear compression garments for 3 months, but the material is thin and may not be noticed as something unusual.

These are questions that you should take up with  your surgeon . Every surgeon can have a different schedule for garment wear. I usually have my patients wear arm garments for only 24-48 hrs postop. I also allow them to return to work as soon as they choose. Most will be back at work within 1-3 days. Again , check with your own surgeon for their recommendations. Dr Crabtree

Most plastic surgeons recommend wearing a liposuction garment for about six weeks. If your skin tone is excellent, you can often get away with wearing it for a shorter period of time. If your skin tone is poor and inelastic, then your plastic surgeon may ask you to wear it for a longer period of time. Most of the nurses I operate on take about one week off of work for Liposuction, but you should ask your surgeon. I hope this helps.
