Great question. Athletes can get filler injections and should have the same results as anyone else. As with any patient, immediately following filler injections, the area where the filler was placed will swell somewhat but generally goes down over the next several days. During this time period, I would recommend refraining from any heavy exertion or contact to that area so as to not manipulate the filler placement. After that, it generally stays where it is placed.

For permanent results, I prefer silicone implants for temporal hollowing. Fillers work well, but this area requires several syringes on each side and is temporary. Fat grafting is another excellent consideration.
