Scar tissue after Thermi tight?

Scar tissue formation, induration and firmness can be seen after any treatment which induces an inflammatory response and this includes ThermiTight. Thank you for your question.  Any device which applies heat to the under-side of the skin, such as ThermiTight or any of the popular lasers used in conjunction with liposuction (SmartlLipo and others) can result in scar tissue formation.  ThermiTight is less likely to, as its temperature is tightly controlled by the surgeon and care is taken to avoid heating tissue to the point that it could cause a burn.  (This is not true of laser-based systems.  The laser beam is always burning hot.)  In any event, since you are 6 weeks out from the procedure, this could also represent an area that is still healing and slightly inflamed.  Gentle massaging of the area a couple times per day can help.  Platelet rich plasma injections or microneedling can also help soften the tissue, as can ThermiSmooth or Thermi 250 treatments to the area.  If, after another 6 weeks, you are still bothered by this band of scar tissue, see your surgeon, as other options may be available.

ThermiTight can be used to tighten the skin only or the skin and deeper tissues. In theory it could also be used to tighten only the deep tissues but I have never treated a patient where that was the goal. ThermiTight works by heating tissues enough to achieve contraction and new collagen formation without burning. It sounds like you are experiencing some new collagen formation in the deeper tissues. This will relax with time. In meantime I would be careful stretching the area since the tightening is why you had the treatment. Best to discuss this with your surgeon.
