Laser genesis burn help. How do I care for this? (photos)

Question

I had genesis tx done by a NP at my derm office on 2 spider nevi. The same night of it I had brown crusty spots appear. I want back to derm office and was seen by another NP. The np reassured me it looks good it’s fine. Yesterday the brown spots peeled. I’m left with red pink skin where they were. I’m afraid I have permanent scaring. My area of concern is now worst. How do I care for this new red skin? What happened? Still have nevi also. Didn’t work!

Hello, thank you for your question and your pictures. Without seeing your skin in person it is hard to say if you will scar. It is normal and typical that if you are treating a spider vein or any vascular lesion that it becomes darker and sometimes scab. This is the only way for it to be injured and for it to go away. Sometimes after these treatments patients are left with a pink scar that will slowly fade away within the coming weeks. I would suggest you keep an open line of communication with your provider and maybe they can suggest products to help the area heal faster and promote better skin rebuild.
