After Lipo and BBL you can go back to work after 2 weeks or maybe less, depending on how successful your recovery is. For a Tummy Tuck, I usually recommend 4 weeks of rest, but, if (based on your recovery improvement)your surgeon advises you to go back to work earlier and you feel capable, you could do so.
First of all, it is most important that you follow the advice of the surgeon who is going to perform your procedure. Only he or she can give you relevant advice regarding the recovery because only he or she knows exactly what kind of procedure, how aggressive, and all the details of what they are going to do.That said, I typically expect my TT/BBL patients to need a two-week recovery before they get back to any type of job which requires 8 hours of moderate activity. To return any earlier than this I think would be premature. Each of these procedures is significant in itself, and when combined, the recovery can be significant. I just don't think that at 8 or 9 days after this very significant and large procedure you are going to be able to be on your feet running around that normal pace. You're going to be tired, and more importantly, you're going to need to give your body time to heal. Pushing the recovery to quickly can risk not only compromised result, but potential problems. That said, bring this up with her surgeon and have an in-depth conversation. I wish you luck with your upcoming transformation!best of luck, Dr. Subbio
The tummy tuck will be the "rate limiting step" in your return to work. The torso is central to the bodies movement and if there will be a fascial tightening repair, the recovery and discomfort will be longer. Assuming that you will have fascial tightening, I would estimate that you could get back to work with your duties in 2 weeks. This is my opinion and your surgeon may have a different one... so please ask your surgeon! All my best.
Since every surgeon has his or her own post op protocol, your surgeon is best equipped to answer this. Each patient heals at a different rate but it could take up to 4 weeks post tummy tuck before you are going to feel up to being on your feet for 8 hours a day. Best, Dr. Nazarian
With these combined procedures I typically recommend 10-14 days to recover working as a dental assistant. There are several things that I suggest before and also give my patients after surgery that will accelerate their recovery. The better prepared you are the better the experience. I view the surgery like and athletic event or running a marathon. If you prepare, you will perform better, have better results, less risk of injury and quicker recovery. Good luck.
Hello dear, thanks for your post and provided information as well. The amount of time needed to heal before returning to work depends upon the type and extent of tummy tick, how your body responds to the surgery, and the duties of your job. Generally, 2 weeks is a good guideline for return to work; 6 weeks for return to all normal activities, including athletics.Good luck :)
Greetings. In general, I tell patients who have active jobs to consider taking two weeks of work. When I evaluate patients in the postoperative period, I will consider extending their time off work if they are not comfortable in returning to work. Every situation is different, and every surgeon will have a different protocol in the postoperative management. Good luck!
I think it is best to prepare for a “recovery” of 4 weeks after tummy tuck surgery. Descriptions of recovery times shorter than this, in my opinion, is over-promising (especially for patients with very active occupations and/or lifestyles)..I do have another word of advice for you. Patients who are about to undergo tummy tuck surgery spend a lot of time thinking about the physical preparation for the procedure (for example weight loss issues) but do not spend a lot of time thinking about the emotional aspects. It is not uncommon for patients who undergo the procedure to experience severe “mood swings”. These emotions may range from depression ( “why did I do this to myself”) to elation (which may lead to over activity). I think it is helpful to be aware that these emotional swings do occur postoperatively.Suggestions I have for patients undergoing this procedure: 1. Make sure you have a strong support system in place who have time/patience to take care of you. 2. Be patient with the healing process, understanding that it will take several weeks to months to feel “normal” again. 3. Be prepared to distract your mind with things of interest such as books, magazines, and movies. 4. Expect less of yourself; do not go back to work too early and let others take care of you (for a change). 5. Keep in close communication with your surgeon and do not hesitate to communicate questions/concerns and the emotional swings that you may experience. 6. Keep in mind the end result!Best wishes.
Swelling at this stage of your post operative recovery is normal and as you become more active your swelling will fluctuate and you may notice you are much bigger in the evening after a day of activity. Wear your compression garment while exercising and you may like to try...
In two words, I'd say no chance. Insurance is not going to cover cosmetic surgery of any kind.
