Me: 28-YO with two prior transplants, happy with my results, but I'm considering a third and final transplant. I've started PRP as a maintenance measure, but, as I think about my final transplant, I'm concerned that the PRP ALONE won't prevent shock loss/further hair loss, as well as Finasteride. I've taken Fin before for a short period but stopped after experiencing negative side effects, so I'm uncomfortable taking it again. Would you say PRP is a viable alternative to Fin for maintenance?

Answer: Hair loss — spironolactone/finesteride, PRP/acell/exosomes, emeragecosmetics Restorsea spray, Viviscal, anteageMD stem cells In general, most people with androgenetic (normal aging) can be treated with in office treatments like steroid injections, PRP/Acell, Exosomes and at home treatments like oral medications like Finasteride or Spironolactone, oral vitamins like Viviscal, topical exfoliating sprays like Restorsea, and weekly growth factors like anteagemd. See an expert for an evaluation. If hair loss is significant it may requires hair transplant (follicular unit translation).

Answer: You can try So finasteride is currently fda approved for treatment of male pattern balding but prp is not although there is alot of good clinical data supporting that it works for male pattern balding. As for the side effects with finasteride you have to speak to your doctor and see what is best for you. There is a population of patients who do experience post finasteride syndrome.
