I had a pleasurable procedure (FUE) under the care of Dr. Farhan’s team. They went above and beyond, personal with care, making it much more comfortable for the patient, detailed and explaining through the process of the procedure while maintaining superb level of care and comfort for the patient by continuously reassessing and communication with the patient. Definitely, all areas of concern are addressed even the after care of the procedure. I commend the entire team. Hats off.
Dr. Farhan is amazing. I’m almost a year out from my procedure and couldn’t be happier with my results. I emailed my results to Dr. Farhan at 6 months after the procedure and was amazed then. I had a pretty significant receding of my front hairline. Dr. Farhan and his staff made sure I was comfortable, not only with the procedure but the plan as well. Dr. Farhan answered all my questions. He’s not only extremely personable but extremely talented. I highly recommend him to anyone considering a hair procedure.
My experience with the sales team and staff at the Keeps clinic was really good. People were super friendly. But unfortunately it stopped there. My fue hair transplant has produced no results. The doctor has no troubleshooting methodology to determine what happened. I was led to believe the doctor would be placing the grafts but that wasn’t true. I was reassured the team of technicians were well trained and experienced. My procedure seemed to be prolonged and the outcome was a failed transplant. I raised concerns to the doctor around six months and was given an answer to keep waiting which made me feel unheard in my concern. But I waited and at the ominous one year mark, still nothing. The doctor likes to say that he has a lot of successes, but this is a fairly new clinic and new program for keeps. So I guess time will tell. If you’re reading this don’t take a risk on this doctor or Keeps at all.
Depending on what the side effects are, resuming Minoxidil may be a good option. If the side effects were redness and itching of the scalp consider trying Rogaine foam. The lack of propylene glycol in the solution makes it much more tolerable for patients. If you had any other side effects (e.g. sexual side effects) please speak with a physician to discuss your options moving forward.
I always recommend that patients have conditions such as Seborrheic dermatitis (often the cause of dandruff) treated by medications or shampoo such as Nizoral concurrently with PRP treatment. While we generally use PRP for patients suffering from Androgenetic alopecia, it’s not uncommon for PRP to help with a wide variety of hair loss conditions. Most of our patients, even ones with more severe causes of hair loss (e.g. Traction alopecia), can see improvement in hair density so I think it would be worth it for you to pursue PRP (assuming there are no other significant medical issues).
It’s not uncommon for us to see patients who have been disappointed with results from past procedures. It’s tough to comment on why a procedure didn’t work especially if we’re not the ones who did it. Nevertheless, despite your past experience, if you have sufficient donor hair, you can certainly consider having another procedure. I’d suggest making sure you go to a reputable clinic with lots of experience and one that offers a satisfaction guarantee. We personally believe manual FUE is the optimal way to get patients the maximum density. If you had a strip procedure in the past, consider doing an FUE in the future. You may appreciate a huge improvement like our other clients.
I think you would be a good candidate for a hair restoration procedure to help reshape your hairline (assuming no significant medical history). While our clinic focuses primarily on FUE procedures and believe it’s the optimal method of hair restoration, this may be one of the few instances in which I’d suggest you consider a STRIP or FUT procedure. Since you are a female and wear your hair long, you’ll be able to avoid shaving the entire back of your head.
It’s not uncommon for our patients to come back noting improvement in the caliber of ALL their hair with PRP. In many cases the results can be stunning. Obviously, outcomes can vary from person to person, but given the minimal side-effect profile of PRP, I think it would be worthwhile for you assuming there are no contraindications. Keep in mind, most patients will require multiple injections of PRP to see improvements and we recommend ongoing PRP therapy as maintenance if you like your result.
