Skin not retracting post gynecomastia surgery - what are my options now? (photos)

Thank you for the photos. I understand this is quite bothersome to you. Yes, skin can be removed around the areola. However, this may scar somewhat unpredictably. Other skin tightening options exist, as well as redraping of the tissue. Fat transfer in combination with either of these is also a possibility. Be sure to see someone very experienced and how to improve these types of things. But the good news is, this can get better in the right hands.

it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Based on your photos, it looks like you would need removal of loose skin in order to get the best results. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

Skin retraction has to be addressed properly and therefore I believe won't help in your case. There is excess skin below nipple which has to be removed, trade off being a scar.

For some patients, the skin will not shrink easily even after going through gynecomastia procedure. Excess breast tissue and fat should be eliminated through one or the other liposuction or surgical extraction. The expulsion of this breast tissue and fat, particularly for men who have a bigger measure of it, can bring about hanging skin. It's the treatment of this abundant skin that makes the contrast between gynecomastia medical procedures. After medical procedure, skin and tissue will start to agree and settle during recuperation and it won't forever do as such in a great manner. For this, doctors usually recommend a compression vest for patients who might experience no retraction in their skin. A compression vest is an instrument to assist the body with changing in the manner the patient and specialist want it to, by controlling expansion, offering help and working with skin retraction. The vest should be worn however much as could be expected for the initial one month after gynecomastia medical procedure to accomplish the most advantage.

As we age we lose skin elasticity and at the age of 50 your skin doesn’t have the recoil it did when you were young.

Some fat and some glandular tissue needed to be left behind to support the skin laxity.

Personally I don’t like donuts skin excisions especially on men.

The procedure has a tendency to widen the areola overtime.
