In my personal opinion, I don't think it wise to apply infrared energy to a area of healing as it increases tissue metabolism and increases blood supply demands. As the blood supply to the tissues is altered by the procedure, and if it becomes inadequate due to these increased blood supply demands, it could result in skin necrosis.
Discuss this issue with your plastic surgeon before using this modality.
