The masseter muscles responsible for chewing and jaw clenching are located to the rear of the cheeks and thus are unlikely, even with bruxim, to worsen smile lines. However, bruxism if continued is a problem that will lead to hypertrophy of the massters, which, besides causing symptoms, can make the lower face look square and boxy. For these reasons, you may wish to have the problem treated with Botox injections to weaken these muscles, which will both reduce the symptoms of bruxism and preserve a more normal lower facial appearance. Best of luck.
Thank you for sharing your question. I would not expect your bruxism to worsen your smile lines as the masseter muscles are far more towards the back of the jaw.
Hi, I’m Lauren, the aesthetic injector here at Colorado Plastic Surgery Center. Botox treatments are commonly repeated every 3 to 4 months to maintain optimal results.
Thank you for sharing your question and photograph. Jaw botox should not impact your teeth alignment. Hope this helps.
Hello there! Botox is an excellent treatment option for you. It is not too young to use for you, especially in limited uses for TMJ treatment. I would highly suggest seeing a Maxillofacial Surgeon in your area to advise further. Good luck!
