My microneedling provider, who seems knowledgeable and competent, will only use .25mm under my eyes. While I appreciate her caution, I also want results for lines under my eyes and have read elsewhere that longer needles can be used. I already use tretinoin but it's not keeping up with the under-eye wrinkles. Thank you for your input.
Answer: Eyes Hello there, I have used up to 1 mm under the eyes, depending on the patients' skin, age, health, and history. This will typically result in greater downtime, but definitely increases results in this area for patients. Most commonly I use .5 mm in this area, with a large number of passes to increase the amount of skin treated. Good luck! Sarah RN BSN

Answer: Microneedling depth Great question, thank you! Typically you don't want to use needles that will go any deeper than 0.5mm. You can improve on your results by adding platelet rich plasma (PRP) to your treatments or radio frequency with the microneedling. Both help to accelerate your healing and improve your results. Thanks again for your question. Best wishes, Dr. Lindsay J Sturm
