My bruises look scary and are in my abdomen area. I marked them with a pen and they have gotten lower almost reaching my belly button now. Is this normal? Is this a bad complication?
Answer: Bruising in upper abdomen 7 days after breast implants, is this normal? Thank you for sharing your question and photographs and congratulations on your augmentation. In general this is more bruising than would be expected with an augmentation and I would have your breasts evaluated in-person by your surgeon. The bruising that has traveled is not unexpected as gravity will "pull" it downward over time. Hope this helps.

Answer: Brusing after surgery Make sure you talk to your surgeon about the issue. The good news with bruising is that after a week or so, it fades dramatically. It is very important that you show your surgeon what you are currently concerned about. Your assessment requires a physical examination. My advice is to keep in touch with your original surgeon. I hope this helps. Dr. Dillon

Answer: Hemat Thanks for your question and photos. In my experience, that is more bruising than we would usually see after breast augmentation. The bruises in and of itself is not of any risk and will resolve on its own. The fact that it's going downward with gravity is normal. I am concerned that the size of the right breast seems to be way larger than that of the left. It is possible that you have developed some blood around the implant in the pocket that was developed for. My recommendation is that you would be seen earlier rather than later by your operating plastic surgeon. Best of luck.

Answer: Bruising after Implants Thank you for your question. While the amount of bruising you have is a bit excessive - are you on aspirin or NSAIDS? - you will continue to see the bruised areas go lower and lower in the abdomen, and then gradually disappear as the body resorbs the blood. My one concern is that you are also quite bruised around your incision - and with implants, the pocket should be bloodless or complications can arise in the future. I would just make sure that you have close follow-up with your Plastic Surgeon to ensure that everything is healing appropriately. Best of luck!

Answer: Bruises after BA Thank you for your question. It is more than normal and because of gravity it goes down. It will be fine with time. Your right breast appears larger than right. I recommend you to see your PS for evaluation to rule out hematoma as you have more bruising than normal.
