How can I get rid of pigmentation around lip area? (Photo)

since I started waxing&threading my upper lip it's darkened while developing into a shadow"moustache"can't go out without covering with tons of concealers.Last year I visited a clinic,they suggested microdermabrasion+using a lightening cream but that didnt help it looks even darker,I've been wearing 40Spf to protect from further damage.I've booked a consultation with a clinic&I've read on their website&everywhere else intense pulse light or fraxel laser might clear it up. will that work? Thanks

I suggest posting photos and seeing a cosmetic dermatologist with experience in treating dark skin/pigmentation and burns.    you likely need an alternative treatment such as clear + brilliant or light salicylic acid peels with lightening creams to improve the color and tone...

IPL can be safely used on the nose. Some swelling and scarring of the nasal tip occurs after rhinoplasty and there are ways to thin the nose skin if necessary. Best, DR. Karamanoukian Los Angeles

I agree with Dr. Emer that IPL is unlikely to cause wrinkles on the skin. Transient burns and overpigmentation of the skin when used on darker skin types are more common. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles

Hyperpigmentation after IPL may occur for two reasons:1) as a result of inflammation. This usually happens if the skin was burned, and a scab or blister formed.2) If there is a history of melasma. Melasma can actually be made worse by an IPL treatment.Although I can't give you specific advice...
