Additional hyperpigmentation could occur along with the possibility of burning and even scarring your skin. To be sure what is best for you, see two or more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment.I hope this helps.

Hi,I would not recommend IPL or fraxel treatments on your skin type. You may risk burning and increasing the amount of hyperpigmentation that you have. I would suggest you use topical skin lightning treatments vs. laser/light therapies. 

IPL treatments would not be a recommended laser therapy to improve the discoloration in tanned or ethnic skin types.   Skin care products that can lighten and  the skin and improve cell turnover after trauma or inflammation are better options.
