I had a series of 3 IPLs between Feb & April 2014 on my cheeks and nose due to redness (rosacea) and broken capillaries. I also had a rhinoplasty in 2012. Now I'm worried that my good rhinoplasty result has been harmed by IPL since I read that IPL boosts collagen formation. Could that mean that more collagen means my nasal skin became even thicker and hence my nose looks larger, or is my pattern of thinking illogical? I'm worried that the increased collagen on nose has thickened the nasal skin.

I agree with Dr. Emer that IPL is unlikely to cause wrinkles on the skin. Transient burns and overpigmentation of the skin when used on darker skin types are more common. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles
This is called post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). I recommend Melarase AM and Melarase PM creams from Kare Skin as well as a broad spectrum sunblock like Spectrase. Bothe are from Kare Skin. Scler-x post inflammatory hyperigmentation relief complex is a great supplement to take as well. ...
Thank you for your
question. It is recommended to avoid direct sunlight before and after IPL treats and to also use a sunscreen that blocks UVA and UVB rays. It is not likely that the IPL has caused the wrist wrinkles. To be sure what is best for you, see two
