Can ice packs on the face after Facial Fat Transfer freeze the grafts causing them to be reabsorbed?

A doc on realself stated that the ice packs too the face can freeze the grafts. If this happens, is it possible to kill the grafts causing reabsorption? Can this still happen at 3 to 6 months post op? How stable are fat transfer 3 to 6 months post op?

Consider steroid injections or stab incision with fat removal.  I would consider going back to the same physician and asking for his help/advice or seeking another cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon with expertise in using fat for injections.  I wish you the best of luck, Dr. Emer.

300 cc is an extremely small amount.  I have transferred over 2000 cc per buttock and the percentage that remains is 50 to 75%.   The buttock can be lifted more and rounded with more fat.  The thighs have to be liposuctioned carefully.Find a board certified plastic surgeon...

Orbital fat is generally resistant to normal weight loss, but if you have had a significant amount of weight and are emaciated, orbital fat cells will also shrink. In this instant, weight gain will cause the cells to rebound and your orbital fat should recover to pre-weight loss levels.

Smoking constricts the existing blood vessel leading to less blood flow. This does not provide the best environment for transferred fat to survive. Earl Stephenson Jr, MD, DDS, DACS
