Hair Loss after 1st PRP treatment, is this normal?

I had first PRP 15 days before . the amount of hair loss been increased by i think 10% more May i know is this normal ? because my doctor told me it will be normal to loss some more hair after first PRP please help me on this

It is unlikely that PRP has caused hair loss. Any localized trauma to the area from injection and the use of epinephrine can lead to a "psuedo-shock" loss in less than 5% of patients, however, this is typically self limited and temporary.As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS) with experience in hair restoration.

divinayak23,Sounds like you are having a shedding or telogen effluvium. I would recommend that you consult with your hair loss specialist. This should not happen, and I have never had a patient shed after a PRP treatment. In my opinion, shedding after PRP injection is a rare event. I would say the incidence is somewhere between two and 5%. The shedding should decrease within one or two months. If you are using any other concomitant medications, it is possible that this may be the etiology of the hair Loss.PRPHAIRMD.COM

PRP treatments themselves typically do not cause hair loss.This may represent ongoing loss from Androgenetic Alopecia or other causes .Finasteride (for men), and/or Minoxidil(men and women) often augment the effects of PRP.
