I have some missing skin or a dent on the bridge of my nose. I would like to know how i can remove it and what is this? Thanks
Answer: Would you consider a permanent non-surgical nose job? Based on your photos, you may have an indentation along both side walls of your nose. If this is something that is bothering you, depending on your examination, microdroplet Silikon-1000 injections maybe considered for achieving a smoother nasal sidewall appearance. I hope this is helpful and thank you for your question. Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Answer: Nasal evaluation Hello and thank you for your question. That appears to be an area of dermal scarring. Filler may be the best option to help with that type of atrophic scarring. Based on your photographs, you may also benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. Your surgeon can accomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your lower nose. Cartilage grafts may also be used to help improve tip refinement. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. Harvard-trained plastic surgeon

Answer: Skin issue on nose It would be helpful to understand what the ideology of the scar is on your nose. Did you have an injury or something removed as a child? Most likely at direct excision with meticulous closure is your best option. This is a tricky area and it’s important to differentiate if the area is visible because of a difference in skin color or if it’s a three-dimensional contour problem. Direct surgical excision would be the procedure of choice especially on individuals who have a proven track record of healing with minimally visible scars. If your skin type is prone to hyperpigmentation, then that may not be such a great decision. There are a lot of variables to take the consideration. I suggest you have a few in person consultations with plastic surgeons in your community. Simplistic solutions are likely to lead to disappointment. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
