Does everyone receive lovenox injections after a BBL?

Question

I'm getting a BBL next month and am trying to prepare for the cost of my labs and prescriptions. I knew I would need to pay for the pain meds and antibiotics but just seen that lovenox is also prescribed. Is that for everyone?

If you are a patient who is high risk for blood clots, you may want to consider if you want to do the surgery.  I have not given Lovenox prior to this procedure or after the procedure. Most patients are not put on this medication during or after a BBL.
Consideration to minimizing the chance of blood clots is a good idea.
In general blood clots have been under estimated in regards to occurrence and impact after elective surgery.
Using blood thinners during and after surgery it's always a balancing act.
If this is what your plastic surgeon recommends then I would go with what he or she thinks is appropriate.
I perform almost all liposuction and fat transfer procedures using local anesthesia with mild sedation minimizing the chance of blood clots.
Even then there's a chance of patients developing blood clots that can be dangerous.

Lovenox is a blood thinner and is generally used in patients with a high risk factor for blood clotting and/or in surgeries that have a higher propensity for clotting.
