Answer: A surgical coordinator is not a doctor I would insist on a direct conversation with your doctor. I'm guess you're paying a lot of money and you should feel entitled to having a one-on-one conversation with what's appropriate and what's not before surgery. If you do not have direct access to your plastic surgeon to ask these type of questions maybe you should find a different doctor. There's no good medical reasons why you should not take what you have described in many doctors will recommend taking them. In my practice I do not have patience change vitamin regiment before surgery with few exceptions. More than anything else avoiding aspirin, ibuprofen or other over-the-counter pain medications as well as not smoking has more impact than anything else in regards to taking or not taking supplements. Insist on talking to your doctor. You deserve that level of one on one communication based on how much money you're most likely spending. Best, Mats Hagstrom M.D.
