My nose is too upright after rhinoplasty, is this due to swelling? (Photos)

Hi,I routinely counsel my patients about the tip position after surgery. The tip is taped up for a week after surgery and it takes a few weeks for the tip to settle. At about 8 weeks the tip is unlikely to drop further. I would wait a couple more weeks and reassess then. The stitches should have dissolved by now and they can be cut away by your surgeon.Hope this information was helpful,Mehdi Sina, MD

Six weeks is still very early following rhinoplasty surgery. You will see many changes in your nose over the next 3 to 6 months as the swelling decreases. For this reason, most plastic surgeons wait at least 12 months before considering revisional surgery. Time and patience is the best recommendation. 

It takes months to a year for all the swelling to subside following Rhinoplasty.  At 1.5 months post op, it is too soon to make a judgement about your result.  Follow up with your surgeon so he can monitor your progress.
