Is it normal to have little lump underarm after breast augmentation? 9 days post op.

Question

So I had breast augmentation 9 days ago under the muscle and I'm finally without any pain on my breast but under my arms it hurts a lot and where we usually shave I have a tiny lump on each armpit and it hurts to touch and it is very sore. Is that normal?

Thanks for your question.  Congratulations on your surgery.  There are a couple of reasons as to why you might have a lump in your underarm, especially if the incision was made there.  Without more information, the best thing to do is to follow-up with your plastic surgeon so that it can be evaluated appropriately.  Best of luck to you.

It may represent local tissue reaction such as lymhnode or fat tissue with inflammatory response due the recent surgery. If the incisions for the implants were in the armpits it may be reaction to the sutures used to close the incision. Most likely it will resolve over time but best advice is to follow up with your surgeon for evaluation.

Hi- yes, this can be normal as it may be a reactive lymph node but you should see your plastic surgeon just to be sure. Hope you love your result, and remember swelling can last for a few weeks so try and remain patient through the healing process. Good Luck!
