Is there any way to revive/rejuvenate the skin on my lower legs? I'm fair-skinned for starters..age spots, freckles, every single follicle shows from shaving... Self-tanner clings to dry patchy things; hair follicles look worse! Light therapy; Deep exfoliation? I just had the dry, scaly things removed at dermatologist (liquid nitro?) burns not healing well. Plan to treat spider veins. (It's as ugly as someone's skin I knew who had cirrhosis!!!)

Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery.

Hello,Thanks for your question. A series of IPL treatments on the legs will help with spider veins and brown spots. Laser Hair Removal will clear up hair growth, reducing hair follicle size. Moisturizing with an AHA product will help with dry patches as wellBest of luck !

As for dry skin I would use a daily moisturizer with an AHA, like Neo Cuits MicroBody.  It exfoliates and hydrates the skin.  For the hyperpigmentation, I would reccomend a series of IPL treatments.  You can't have any sun exposure 3-4 weeks prior to treatments.  You coul also look in to Laser Hair removal to reduce the hair on your legs.

Thank you for your question.  This is something we see and treat every day in our practice.  Depending on your skin type, you may be a candidate for a series of IPL treatments.  It should only be done on Skin Types I-III with no sun exposure.  Summer is probably not the best time to start IPL treatments.  We would also recommend a series of PicoSure FOCUS treatments any time of year.  It is safe for all skin types.  We will always recommend that you avoid sun exposure and use a quality sun screen.  Best of luck
