Hi, I’m a bit concerned, I got 330cc under muscle implant and I’m about 15-16 days. My left implant feels a bit hard not to much then my right one. As also it’s a bit higher then the right as you can see, at times I feel pressure inside like if I’m feeling the movement but is hard tell and no pain unless I squeeze both of them to much. Can someone explain I would show before , in btw and now
Answer: Asymmetry Can Resolve In Time You are still in the early stages of healing so a bit of patience is needed. The implants are in the process of dropping into the pockets. This takes time and as you heal, the look of your breasts are likely to change and improve. Also sensations of tightness and occasional pain are natural at an early time like this after surgery. Surgery causes trauma to the tissues and the healing process has its unpleasant sides. They will lessen as time passes. Your two sides can sometimes heal differently and create an assymmetric appearance. In time, they are likely to become more symmetrical. During your next check up appointment, your surgeon can address your issue if this is still concerning you. Hope this helps,Ali Rıza Öreroğlu, MD FEBOPRASEuropean and Turkish Board Certified Aesthetic, Plastic and Reconstructive SurgeonIstanbul, Turkey

Answer: Post Op Concerns - Appearance of Breasts Hi Carrolina, I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a breast augmentation surgery. However, you are still in the early stages of the healing process at 2 weeks post op. Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively. At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues around the implants are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides and the implants drop to their final position, you will be able to see the final result of your breast augmentation surgery. Dropping of implants is part of the healing process and this occurs after the tissues surrounding the implants slowly relax, allowing the implants to settle into their final position. It can take about four to six months for the implant to drop down to their final position. Also, your breasts can drop at different rates. But if you are still concerned, you can always visit your plastic surgeon and discuss your concerns. This way, you will be reassured. Also, if after six months, you are not satisfied with the appearance of your breast, you can visit your plastic surgeon and discuss the possibility of revision surgery. Lastly, follow your plastic surgeons post-operative instructions and advice for faster healing and recovery. Answer: Early postop breast augmentation Hi. Your appearance and the way you feel are totally normally at this stage of your recovery. For several weeks, the healing and settling process is occurring and you will witness changes to improve the way it all looks and feels. Sometimes massaging your breasts and chest muscle may help in the recovery, but you should talk to your PS and follow his/her advice to get you through. Don't worry, your outcome looks great so far!

Answer: Can someone explain why my left implant feels a bit hard and is a bit higher? Thank you for sharing your question and photographs, and it appears that you will have a very nice result. After placement of implants, the appearance of the breasts will change dramatically over the next several months, as the implants drop, and the overlying tissue stretches to accommodate the extra volume. In your case the swelling from surgery is flattening your implants and holding them high on your chest. This swelling can be asymmetrical and lead to some temporary differences between your breasts, accentuating any preexisting differences. I know waiting is difficult, but judge your results at 4-6 months after surgery as most of your breast changes should have occurred by then. Hope this helps.

Answer: Implant High/Hard Congratulations on your breast augmentation, Carrolina! As others have already answered, it is not at all uncommon for one breast to be higher and/or firmer than the other breast early after surgery. There are many factors that may come into play affecting the degree of that tightness, hardness or implant elevation, and why one breast more than the other. In looking at your pre-op photo, there is some subtle shape and position asymmetry, with the right breast being a little shorter and rotated a little outward and the left breast pushing/pointing downward a little. These slight differences can cause the implant to sit a little differently and for the tensions on the implant pocket to be a little different on each side, and therefore the degree and speed of tissue relaxation and implant settling after surgery may also be a little different. I find that massaging may help expedite and even out this process. Your plastic surgeon would be in the best position to know whether what you are experiencing is as expected, or not, and whether you’re on track. He/she would also be able to make recommendations to help you optimize your results. It is still very early, and it will take months to see your final results. Best of luck! Dr. Ghafoori
