I want to have that pouty Selena Gomez/ magazine look.. I can’t see to do that with injections so I’m wondering if a lip lift would do that for me?

The answer to your question is: MAYBE.  Your simulation is valuable and suggests that yes, well done lip lift would nicely enlarge, pout, and evert your upper lip.  Only in-person consultation can confirm this, and lower lip W-plasty or variation may be indicated to match upper lip.

An upper lip lift does three things:
1. Shortens the distance of the base of the nose to the upper lip Vermilion.
2. Allows your upper teeth to be seen, which is aesthetically beneficial in most cases.
3. Everts the upper lip Vermilion (rolls it outwards) to a very minor degree. I tell my patients that if they are coming to me for an upper lip lift and expect a a good deal of added "real estate" to their upper lip, they will be disappointed. 
An upper lip lift will give you an alluring, model-type look as you see in the glossy fashion magazines. To get a complete assessment, a plastic surgeon needs to see you in person and also assess your upper lip against the backdrop of your upper teeth when your mouth is slightly parted.

Hello ashleyrulesThis procedure may benefit younger and older patients alike. In younger patients, the procedure is typically used to avoid obtaining a plastic appearance with fillers. It is important to understand that not all lips will benefit from fillers. The lift gives the upper lip a lighter and more defined appearance with greater volume and tooth show. As you age, the upper lip loses volume and increases in length. When performed in older patients, the lift helps restore a more youthful facial balance and sensuality around the mouth. It also works wonders for improving lost lip volume as well as lipstick bleed lines and wrinkles.

Dear ashleyrules5511,I typically use Juvederm for my lip sculpting. There are two main focuses of lip injections, adding volume and actually sculpting the shape. Both involve injecting the filler in different areas of the lips and patterns.

There are a number of factors that can play a role in assessing your candidacy for an upper lip lift - how much upper teeth show you have, the heaviness of your upper lip skin, and more.  This will require more dynamic photo and or video review at a minimum.
