Really confused, any advice? Will this recommendation help me breathe normally again? (Photos)

Question

I've been recommended to have Septoplasty and Inferior Turbinate Reduction Surgery to relieve my 10-years-long obstructed breathing. Tried medication treatment to no avail, will this recommendation help me breathe normally again? Also, does the CT Scan attached show signs of Concha Bullosa (right middle turbinate), my ENT didn't mention it at all ? Appreciate any input as my life is so bad with the obstructed breathing I have. Thanks a lot.

Agree with other answers that given the limited information available with the 2 CT "slices," it does appear that you have a deviated septum and inferior turbinates that are enlarged.  Correcting those problems will help your breathing but, without examining you, it is impossible to say whether there are other additional causes of nasal obstruction that need to be corrected (nasal polyps, nasal valve collapse, scar bands, etc.).  I recommend you follow up with a board certified otolaryngologist that you feel more comfortable with prior to proceeding.  Also, it looks like you do have a small concha bullosa but this is not likely a mojor contributor to your nasal obstruction.   It would require examination of your nose and the entire CT scan to tell for sure.  Best of luck.

I am sorry you are so miserable and certainly you need help. The CT scan of your sinus you present is only limited as it is two "slices" of your sinus and nasal anatomy.  You need to be evaluated fully by a board certified otolaryngologist/facial plastic surgeon to determine the correct treatment for you.  The scan pictures you present do show a mild S shape deviation of your septum and inferior turbinate hypertrophy and a suggestion of a concha bullosa in the right middle turbinate but a review of all your CT scan would be most helpful.Good luck with your treatment and I do recommend a second opinion to help you decide what the best treatment is for you.

The CAT scan presented only shows a mild deviated septum, and no concha bullosa. In addition, there are only two slices presented which is only a partial picture. A thorough examination of the internal and external portion of the nose are required to make a determination about what is causing the breathing difficulties. There are many different issues on the inside of the nose that can cause breathing problems which must be sorted out time of the consultation.
