I think that a tummy tuck would likely be warranted in addition to the liposuction and BBL based upon your picture.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
Judging from your photo, you will need a tummy tuck in conjunction with your BBL. The skin will mostly likely hang more loosely on the abdomen if you only do liposuction and BBL. Good luck and be safe.Respectfully, John T. Nguyen, MD, FACS, FICSDouble Board Certified Plastic SurgeonAmerican Board of Plastic SurgeryAmerican Board of Surgery
Hello Nicole,Thank you for posting photos along with your question. From the photo it does appear that you have some loose skin and your abdominal wall may be a little weakened (probably from bearing children.) You have some abdominal skin that hangs over your pubic area. If you have liposuction done, unfortunately, this hanging skin will only get worse. In my opinion, if a patient like yourself came to me, I would recommend liposuction, tummy tuck and then inject the fat in the buttocks. Make sure you do your research because you want to find someone that has done many combined liposuction tummy tuck procedures because these are more complex than either operation performed alone. Please make sure you are being evaluated by a board certified plastic surgeon. Wish you all the best!Ankur Mehta MD
Thank your for your question. A tummy tuck can address the skin and muscle laxity of the abdominal region as well as reducing the excess fatty tissue. A brazilian butt lift helps to shape the buttock by borrowing fat from one part (or several) and transferring this fat to another. They are both extremely rewarding procedures. The best approach for a patient who wants to have both procedures is to stage them and possibly start with the BBL. Here is why:1) A brazilian butt lift is transferring fat from one area to the buttock. One common donor area is the tummy. Once the fat is transferred, you need to keep pressure off the buttock as this allows new blood supply to develop to the newly grafted fat cells. Any stress such as pressure can reduce the efficacy of this process and hence you may lose some fat. Hence, no sitting or laying on your bottom for ~2 weeks.2) A tummy tuck is removing excess skin and tightening the muscle as well as remove extra fat. To make the skin removal efficient and protect the incision, you surgeon will often remove skin while your hips are flexed. You will need to maintain this position after surgery for about a week. This will required you to sleep in a recliner position for a good week. In addition, l often combine liposuction of the abdomen and flanks as part of this procedure and once this fat is removed, it cannot be stored for the brazilian buttock lift in the future.Since the recovery process for these two popular procedures compete, I would recommend staging them. If you are surgeon is needing as much donor areas to recruit as much fat as possible, then I would start with the brazilian buttock lift so you can use the abdominal and flank regions as donor areas. In addition, I would combine the breast lift procedure with the tummy tuck as you will be on your back when sleeping for the tummy tuck procedure.
No, doing lipo alone if your skin is already sagging will not get rid of that hanging skin, and can in fact make it worse. A BBL can be done at the same time as the tummy tuck, it just is a longer surgery and has positioning issues afterwards, due to the fact that you can't lay on your bottom, and you can't lay flat because your skin is tight on your tummy. So, you're forced to lay on your side.
Hi, thanks for sharing your concern and photos with usFirst I want to congratulate you for making this important decision. Deciding to get an aesthetic procedure to change your body and get a new life style is a big step! Looking at your photos I might say that you´ll be a great candidate to get an entire back, waist and flanks liposuction, with BBL, and tummy tuck, this is because all the extra skin located in this areas plus your abdominal muscle needs to be repaired. Before all this, of course, you need to get a complete medical evaluation and laboratory exams to check everything is fine. For us your safety, always, is going to be first. Have a great day! Dr. JPG
Loose skin with stretch marks doesn't tighten back up on its own. When you liposuction the excess fat in that area during a BBL to create that tiny hourglass waist, this creates even more loose skin. It is hard to say just with the one angle but you might be able to get away with just a mini TT at the time of your BBL since the skin above your belly button looks a lot more youthful than the skin below your belly button. Excess fat is treated with lipo. Excess skin is treated by cutting it out.
Thank you for your question. Yes, over time gravity does pull down the buttocks causing sagging. However, this takes time. Swelling will diminish after the BBL and the fat will settle. Best of luck!Dhaval M. Patel Double Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Hoffman Estates Barrington Oakbrook Chicago
You are right that the underlying musculoskeletal system cannot be altered, but the way in which the fat is removed is highly skill and surgeon dependent.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
The best position to lay in bed is on your sides. You can rotate from one side to the other. This will prevent pressure to the buttocks.
