To make an assessment on the outcome of a plastic surgery procedure we always need to see proper before and after pictures. If you don’t have your before and after pictures and contact your surgeon and ask them to forward the pictures they took. Consider re-posting with before and after pictures. It’s also important to include exactly what areas were treated with Liposuction. Did you have the upper and lower abdomen treated or just the lower abdomen? It looks like you have moderate skin, laxity and potential muscle separation from previous pregnancies. I’m guessing you may not have been an ideal candidate for Liposuction. Showing before pictures will tell us your candidacy for the procedure. Tell me tuck me up in a better option but without proper pictures we can’t really make a good assessment. Removing subcutaneous fat can cause the skin to drop a bit creating slight worsening of a sad, looking belly button. Most likely you had some of this before the procedure and removing more fat tends to make it a little more obvious. I typically review this during in person consultations when I see it as a potential issue that could happen. Delivering consistent quality, liposuction, results is more difficult than most people realize. This includes the ability to make good assessments regarding candidacy, and the ability to clearly explain with words and pictures exactly what peoples results are likely to look like during consultations. Follow up with your provider and discuss your concerns with him or her. Liposuction results are final by three months after surgery. Alternatively, schedule, if you were in person, second opinion, consultations with other plastic surgeons in your community. For second opinion, consultations patients to come prepared bringing with them copies of their before and after pictures and a copy of your operative report. These are all available from your current provider’s office if you request them. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
