Answer: Lower extremity liposuction Delivering consistent quality, liposuction, results is more difficult than most people realize. On top of this lower extremities are technically more difficult in other parts of the body and many patients do not get the type of result stay at hoped for. The main reason for this is the inner thigh it has a substantial degree of skin laxity that contributed significantly to body contour. Revision surgery is more difficult than primary liposuction so the importance of choosing as officially experienced, and talented provider cannot be overstated. Generally speaking if the procedure did not deliver results the first time it’s unlikely you’re going to get a stellar outcome by doing it again. A lot has to do with the selection process of the first provider. The fullness above your knee is it due to skin redundancy with your leg straightened out. In order to have full flexion of your knee. There Hass to be skin redundancy with your legs straight. This creates bulky fullness. If you flex your knee, you’ll see that the contour changes. We usually don’t do liposuction on this part of the lower extremity. The inner knee tends to respond well, and the inner thigh can respond reasonably well on young people with tight skin. There is a substantial amount of difference in skills and experience among different providers, offering Liposuction. Outcomes vary greatly based on patient’s candidacy for the procedure and the skill of the provider. These two are the only variables that really matter. Patient candidacy, and the skill of the provider. Understanding your own candidacy before you schedule surgery is paramount and understanding what the procedure can and cannot accomplish. I suggest patients focus on finding the best provider and having a clear understanding of their own candidacy for the procedure by having multiple in person consultations before scheduling procedures. During each consultation ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before and after pictures of previous patients who had similar body characteristics to your own showing similar anatomic areas having been treated. An experience provider should have no difficulty showing you the before and after pictures of at least 50 previous patients. Considering that revision work is more difficult for a primary Liposuction. I suggest being highly selective before considering a secondary procedure. Your potential results may have been limited due to your candidacy for Liposuction in the first place. Plastic surgeons simply don’t have great treatments for women with flabby thighs. Excessive removal of fat can compromise skin integrity and create excess of skin laxity in areas where skin Laxity is already a problem. The ability to make an accurate assessment regarding candidacy and convey what actual results can and cannot accomplish is the hallmark of a talented provider. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
