Can the CoolSculpting machine overheat and cause false thermal events?

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I am not sure what you mean by thermal event that you mentioned. The applicators itself should not get hot -what that means is your skin at the application site should never be hot. Now if the machine is getting hot it usually will stop the treatment and with error will show on the machine. Full body tattoos have nothing to do with this since coolsculpting applicators don't sense color at all. I would just be upfront and ask the person doing your coolsculpting whats going on.  At our practice we discuss all the technical issues with the clients if there are any so they stay informed. Hi! I have been doing CoolSculpting for a little over 2 years now, and the one thing I know is that the machine is very specific when there is a fault. My understanding as I have had them as well, a thermal event has to do with your personal tissue in the area not cooling at the same rate- meaning one part Is either getting too cold too fast or ice versa. I have been instructed to try again in 24 hours. I had this happen to a woman's lower right abdomen 2 separate treatment rounhds a couple months apart where as it didn't happen with her first treatment. I believe the machine will say something about over heating and won't let you re try an area until the room is cool enough.
