I had 3 moles removed from my leg. The scar is dark in color and my skin around the scar is also dark. It is still very itchy. Is this normal healing?
Answer: It is common for the scar to be darker for some time Mole removal creates a scar. Itching of a healing scar is completely normal. The scar can heal with a darker pigment . This occurs more in people with darker complexions and those who get sun exposure to the scar. I would recommend strict sun avoidance for the healing scar for 3 to 6 months but longer if it darkens. The darkness may gradually lessen with no treatment. This can take a year or so lighten. Wishing you the best looking legs.

Answer: Recommend applying Plato's scar serum twice daily followed by laser treatment Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started. Best,

Answer: See a Cosmetic Dermatologist for Mole Removal--lasers, radiowave, shave I recommend following up with your cosmetic dermatologist. If necessary, this can be removed again with laser, radiowave or shave. Any scarring can be improved with lasers and microneedling/prp. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Post Mole Removal Yes, itching is common while a biopsy site is still undergoing healing. You may have developed a little PIH (post inflammatory hyperpigmentation) which is normal so take care to protect with sunscreen at all times. Legs generally take longer to heal so be patient. If the pigmentation persists, you may want to consider adding a bleaching cream.....
