Wound care after stitches removal for a mole excision: when can I start using silicone pads?

I got a mole excised (upper lip, bet. my nose and my mouth) by a plastic surgeon. He took some stitches out on day 7 and the remaining out today (day 10). I've had steristrips on since surgery, but was told not to put Vaseline. Now he said to let it air dry and not put anything else. Reading the posts here it seems keeping the wound moist is best to minimize scarring. Can I still try Vaseline now that the stitches are out? Should I keep using steristrips? When can I start using silicone pads?

The safest thing to do would be to not do any strenuous exercise until the sutures from the mole removal on your back are removed.  You could contact the office where you had the procedure to get further advice.  The type of sutures used and the size of the wound may influence the decision on w...

This isn't typical and may be unrelated to your mole removal. If it persists, I recommend following up with your Doctor. For after care,  I recommend Silagen + Bioshield to promote healing. Any scarring can be improved with lasers and microneedling/prp. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
