Ive only noticed this now since I have lost weight. My chin is so small, its almost part of my neck. I also have a very week jaw line. . This is really affecting my self esteem and it is definitely holding me back from ALOT. I wanna get surgery.I feel like if I tell my parents about this they would think im crazy. And also it is very expensive! I dont know what to do.
Answer: My chin is very small? It would be difficult to make a proper recommendation without pictures or an exam, but a small chin may be treated with a chin implant.Find a plastic surgeon with ELITE credentials who performs hundreds of chin implants and facial procedures each year. Then look at the plastic surgeon's website before and after photo galleries to get a sense of who can deliver the results. Kenneth Hughes, MD Los Angeles, CA

Answer: RE: Very Small Chin One option to consider as an alternative to surgery is a non-surgical chin augmentation. Instead of inserting a plastic implant, the doctor injects a filler like Radiesse. Radiesse is made of tiny particles of calcium hydroxyapatite. These particles can create a diffuse structural matrix under the skin, or one that is more compact. This is why Radiesse can be used for improving facial contours like the chin. Results will last about 12-18 months. In the meantime, you may want to focus on cultivating areas of your life that help you feel positive about yourself (e.g. sport, hobby, volunteer activities).Since you seem to feel quite strong about your profile, you can try having an honest talk with your parents about either the Radiesse or the surgery.

Answer: My chin is very small? Photos and/or an in-person exam would be necessary to provide you with any advice. I would recommend a consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon. He or she will be able to evaluate you in person and make some recommendations. In general, a chin implant can help improve the appearance of the profile and strengthen a weak chin. Computer imaging software may be used during a consultation. A morphed image can help give you an idea of how the final result of a surgical procedure may appear. I hope this helps, and I wish you the best of luck.

Answer: Treatment for small chin and no jawline It's impossible to give specific advice without photos and other information. However, the typical treatment for a weak chin and jawline is chin implant (or lower jaw surgery) and liposuction of the neckline and jawline. Your post suggests that you are young which usually means that liposuction (rather than a lift procedure) is adequate to address the jawline. Stephen Weber MD, FACS
