Botox is a great way to temporarily reduce hyperhidrosis, it would be helpful knowing how many units were applied to each palm, I suggest you follow up with your provider to discuss the amount that was injected
The number 1 reason for Botox not working is that you didn't receive enough of it. Continue following up with your injector so that you can determine what the right dosing is for you. Don't give up hope as I have found Botox to be a very effective treatment for excessive sweating.
I would discuss your lack of treatment response with your MD to see if something simple can be done, like a discounted touch-up treatment. Another option is treatment with iontophoresis. Check for a local office that carries the treatment and can provide support, and then the MD can prescribe the home-use Fischer Galvanic device which is often paid by insurance.
Botox works for hyperhidrosis because it inhibits the sweat glands from producing so much sweat. While it is effective for the hands, the reason it wouldn't work is that not enough Botox was injected. It usually takes about 100 units in a given location (both hands total) to treat hyperhidrosis for about 6 months. Some people will need more than this though. Follow up with your injector. Also, there are surgical options specifically to treat the hands permanently, but it would need to be determined if you're a candidate for this or not. I have had one patient in over ten years of Botox experience that had the same reaction. About a year later and saying she will never have it again, she had it again and she did fine. The alternative to a neurotoxin is a hyaluronic filler like Perlane. It doen't work as a neurotoxin, it works by...
A filler would be a good starting point with minimal downtime and be done in an office setting.
