Botox works for hyperhidrosis because it inhibits the sweat glands from producing so much sweat. While it is effective for the hands, the reason it wouldn't work is that not enough Botox was injected. It usually takes about 100 units in a given location (both hands total) to treat hyperhidrosis for about 6 months. Some people will need more than this though. Follow up with your injector. Also, there are surgical options specifically to treat the hands permanently, but it would need to be determined if you're a candidate for this or not.
