I have severe cranial/facial sweating and it's ruining my life. Is Botox in the scalp my only solution? (Photo)

I'm only 32 years old and this condition has absolutely wrecked my self confidence. I don't have any other medical conditions so I believe this is facial & cranial hyper hydrosis. My concern is that I already have thin and a thinning hair line. I've read on a couple threads that women who had BOTOX injected in the scalp lost hair and are continuing to lose it. IS THIS TRUE??? If so what can I do to stop the sweating other than doing BOTOX. I NEED HELP

Botox can be a great tool in relieving the temporary effects from hyperhidrosis. I have not seen a negative impact in hair from the Botox, so it could worth trying at least once. As far as your thinning hair, there are a few topical solutions and oral medications that can be prescribed and purchased OTC to enhance hair growth and thickness. Thank you for your question. I'm so sorry this is causing you distress. I would encourage you to seek the help of a board-certified dermatologist who can prescribe an oral medication called Robinul to help decrease your excess sweating.

I feel it is worth a try for Botox has great relief of sweating..    I have found it very successful and long lasting iin armpit area and zero hair loss in my experience.   I have only a few patients for scalp sweating but again no hair loss on these few.   There is really no alternative treatment.  I would try 100 units  on one side only in the most aggressive sweating area and compare with the opposite side.    I think you will  fine greats rwlief.  My Best Dr C
