Your nose could be improved with rhinoplasty, which would give permanent improvements in symmetry and profile. When you meet with a facial plastic surgeon, he or she will consider your nose in balance with your other features. You can bring some photos of noses that you think would be flattering to your face and these can be discussed. I hope this helps.
Hello and thank you for your question. Based on yourphotographs, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. Your surgeon canaccomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in yourlower nose. This can be designed to improve the symmetry of your nasal tip. Make sure you specifically look atbefore and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performedby your surgeon and not just a computer animation system. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. Irecommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plasticsurgeon who can evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. Reish, M.D. FACSHarvard-trained plastic surgeon
I would recommend starting with a consultation with a board certified facial plastic surgeon that specializes in rhinoplasty surgery. I would recommend writing down the following questions before scheduling your consultation:1. Are you unhappy with the tip of your nose? 2. Do you feel that your nose is too wide? 3. Do you want to make your nostrils smaller in appearance? 4. Are you looking to decrease the general size of your nose?I hope some of these questions will help you pinpoint what it is that you don't like about your nose. Cost will vary due to many factors including: facilities fee and anesthesia fee. I wish you the best as you research your options when scheduling a rhinoplasty consultation.Sincerely,Philip J. Miller, MD, FACS Double Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon
From your photos, although they are non clinical, it appears that you would need some refinement of the tip, lengthening of the nose, and narrowing of bony part of the nasal base. So much depends on a detailed evaulation and a discussion of your goals, it is almost impossible to make specific recommendations about grafting, open versus closed approach, and suturing techniques based on your photos. You need to find a board certified plastic surgeon with experience and photos to discuss your goals. Surgical techniques vary and advances in technique are meant to be shared and reviewed by peers rather than sold to the public like baubles and trinkets a the local mall. Good luck
It is very common for noses to be asymmetric. There are different ways to refine the nasal tip. As an art student, from the LA County Museum of Art, I like to use advance suturing techniques to change the shape of the nasal tip. Sometimes cartilage graphs are used to help improve nasal tip definition. I incorporate the FINNESSE technique which I invented. I routinely do not pack the nose. Pain bruising and recovery are minimal when compared to traditional techniques. I hope you find this information useful. Please watch the enclosed video.
Hi Paris! It is definitely possible for you to have those changes done and even out your nose. The best thing for you would be to ask for computer imaging when you go for a consultation. This allows you to visualize the results that you could achieve through surgery. Consult with two board certified facial plastic surgeons to get varying opinions of the work that can be achieved. Be sure to check their before and after photos, and make sure you like their results. If you do, they will be a good match for you to receive a similar outcome. Good luck!Dr. S.
Without an in-person physical examination, it would not be possible to determine the exact cause of your problem. If it is not swelling, it could be the lower lateral cartilages of your tip or a tip graft used to create definition that you are seeing and feeling. I have seen surgeons use ova...
Hello! While you may be more swollen temporarily, all swelling is temporary after rhinoplasty. Having surgery on your menstrual cycle will not impact the final result. Good luck!
Yes, the nasal tip drops after rhinoplasty. I think your tip will go down with some more time. However, your nose may have been overly shortened. I would discuss your concerns with your surgeon.
