135, 5'5 athletic build. B cup with large ribs so look like an A cup. Fat transfer from my mother?
Answer: Your mother's fat would not work for your breast augmentation. And of course, blood type is only one of the markers needed to ensure any type of graft or organ transplant would be suitable (not to mention worthy of lifetime immunosuppressive therapy and the increased risk of lymphoma or other cancers). This is why organ, bone marrow, or other life-saving transplants are only done in the most exquisitely-matched (much more than blood type, most of the histocompatibility antigens must match or the graft/transplant will fail, and can even if they DO match) patients. As other have stated, identical twins could do this, but not mother and daughter, since half of your cellular material comes from your father. Not a match. Furthermore, the risks and medical difficulties with immunosuppressive drug therapy are not appropriate for elective cosmetic surgery. Kidney transplant to save a life and prevent dialysis; heart transplant to save a life, etc.--Sure, but not for breast augmentation when a superior alternative exists--breast implants.Sorry, but implants remain the best and safest choice of all. Answer: Fat grafting from family members The fat would be rejected from everyone except an identical twin. Unfortunately, other members of your family are not close enough genetically for fat transfers from them to work for you.

Answer: Is it possible to harvest the fat from a relative with the same blood type to perform fat transfer breast augmentation? Only an identical twin could help with providing fat. If you are thin, implants are still the most reliable form of breast augmentation.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA

Answer: Using fat from another person This is a common question. Someday, when the risks of immunosuppression have been eliminated by medical research, this may come to pass, but for now, only an identical twin may donate fat for your interest in fat transfer breast augmentation. Or, perhaps in vitro cloning of your own fat and stem cells may be practical, but this is still someday in the future.

Answer: Harvest the fat from a relative for fat transfer breast augmentation? No, fat from a relative including your mother wouldn't be successful. It would only work if it was from an identical twin with the exact same genetic makeup, otherwise your body would reject the fat and there would be significant problems. If you are interested in breast enhancement, I would suggest that you find a surgeon certified by the American Board ofAmerican Plastic Surgery and one who is ideally a member of The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person. Robert Singer, M.D., FACS La Jolla, California
