Yes, fat can be grafted to your breasts. I typically reserve this for very small augmentations, particularly in women who have failed breast implants or who have been reconstructed.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
Thank you for the question. Liposuction from different areas of the body and transferring the fat into the breasts can be done safely. It usually increases the breast size by one cup. A small percentage of the fat gets resorbed by the body. This can be done under local or IV sedation depending on the areas suctioned. Best of luck....
Yes, fat can be liposuctioned from your body and then transferred to your breasts. In my practice, I will use the BRAVA (external suction cup) to help expand the breast prior to fat grafting. However, only a modest increase in cup size should be expected. If you are looking for a significant increase in breast size, implants are the most reliable way to achieve this.
Thank you for the question. The answer is YES, you can have breast fat transfer that harvested from the abdomen or other parts of the body.Dr. Campos
This is the procedure of the moment but there are risks such as fat abscesses, failure of the fat to "take" equally on both sides, etc. I think that proponents frequently tell patients what they want to hear and don't discuss the potential negatives (I can say that honestly because I see too many patients in consultation who have gone elsewhere and report that they hear the risks for the first time in my office). I do not think that the scientific data we have at this point is sufficiently compelling for me to offer this procedure and would encourage you to wait until the American Board of Plastic Surgery announces its seal of approval.
Yes, you can have liposuction and transfer fat to your breast. If you have enough fat to harvest, you may be able to increase breasts by one cup size. Please remember that fat transplants are unpredictable, you need to have enough fat, and as as much as 30% or as little as 3% of the fat cells may survive. Issues with future mammograms are uncertain. IV sedation and an outpatient surgery center are required. The cost for fat transplants to the breast or breast implants are similar to breast implants except for the additional cost of the implants. In my NJ practice, the total fee of fat transplants is $4100 including the professional, anesthesia, and facility fees. Saline implants cost $1000 more and silicone implants cost $2000 more. Consult a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon,
SOME of the grafted fat ALWAYS dies. Whatever dies can cause scar fibrosis and microcalcifications that can interfere with the detection of breast cancer via mammogram (not to mention lumps and firm spots from the dead fat blobs). Eating lots only enlarges the living fat--everywhere on your body...
Thank you for your question and photo. Your expectations will dictate the best procedure for you. I suggest a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to go over what options best address your goals. Best of luck! Dr Dhaval Patel Double Board Certified Plastic Sur...
I think there are many other valid concerns about fat grafting to the breasts. This would not be one on my list.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
