I accidentally flaked off my skin after eMatrix skin, what do I do?

I had ematrix three days ago. This morning I work up and it was flaking so I exfoliated the flakes off without much effort... without knowing you aren’t supposed to do this. Is this going to scar? What’s the likelihood? Recommendations? Thanks!

If you are several days post treatment and the scabs are dry and not erythematous, you can gently exfoliate the skin to speed the recovery. This exfoliation should not create any bleeding or open areas. Light meaning with a washcloth, using gentle motion. There should be no irritation to the skin. That being said, the spots will come off naturally within a few days and the downtime is only about 3-4 days even with a very strong treatment. It would be a good idea to touch base with your practitioner with a photo or visit so that they can weigh in on whether exfoliation is appropriate.

Occlude the area as per instructions given by your dermatologist. I prefer QV intensive, but if its at day 3, possibly aqueous cream. The specialist who supervised the treatment will know what to do. Cheers, Dr Davin Lim
